We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Purchaser to join our growing team in Vancouver. Within this position you will be giving the opportunity to work on one of Vancouvers most interesting projects in recent times.

The mission of the Purchaser is to support purchasing activities for the Modern Niagara Vancouver field teams to ensure they are carried out efficiently costeffectively and within established timelines. The ideal candidate for this role will be a strategic individual with strong relationshipbuilding and negotiation skills.

The Purchaser must also live and promote Modern Niagaras Core Values in all their actions and support the efforts of the entire Modern Niagara team towards the achievement of established goals. OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Source and purchase materials for our field foremen
  • Review maintain and issue required purchase orders to preferred vendors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Review maintain and recommend appropriate levels of inventoried materials and consumables
  • Schedule and expedite material deliveries as required
  • Detailed review of vendor invoices against orders placed to ensure accuracy and resolve exceptions
  • Execute material return procedures and ensure credits are obtained from suppliers
  • Maintain purchase order records in an organized process

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience ideally within the Construction and Mechanical industry
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships with wholesalers suppliers and vendors ensuring topnotch customer service.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and construction industry experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Effective communicator with the ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships with employees suppliers and other stakeholders at all levels
  • Resourceful problemsolver able to manage multiple priorities

The expected salary range for this position is $65000 to $80000.
