  • 6 month Temporary Senior Executive opportunity to join the Office of Strategic Lands
  • Paramatta office location flexible working supported
  • TRP from $217997 $242100 including superannuation commensurate with experience

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Strategy and Transactions to lead the Office of Strategic Lands. This pivotal role involves identifying acquiring and transferring land to local government and NSW Government agencies for open space infrastructure transport corridors and other State Government priorities. The Director will also play a crucial role in Property Development and Valuation partnering with other agencies to support land disposals for housing in the Greater Sydney region and the Central Coast.

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience with extensive knowledge and experience in property planning and/or public administration.
  • Demonstrated highlevel stakeholder management expertise and experience to navigate through government processes combined with strong leadership skills with the ability to drive performance in a complex and politically sensitive environment.

About You:

You are a visionary leader with a proven track record in developing effective property strategies policies and procedures. The successful candidate will also be a skilled professional who can leverage their expertise to drive success and growth in the Office of Strategic Lands.

You excel in navigating complex and politically sensitive environments and have a deep understanding of government processes. Combined with your strong leadership skills you are an ideal candidate for this role.

Youre a strong communicator and excel in building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders particularly in your area of expertise. Leading and managing a team through significant change will be a key challenge in this role.

About Us

The Office of Strategic Lands manages the Planning Ministerial Corporation which is part of the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure(DPHI). The Corporation was established in 1951 to acquire and hold land for future strategic purposes. Since then the Corporation acquires land to deliver on the NSW Governments strategic vision for Greater Sydney and the Central Coast.

The Corporation acquires land in accordance with Schedule 2 Part 6 of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act). This provides that the Corporation may for the purposes of the EP&A Act acquire land by agreement or by compulsory acquisition in accordance with the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation Act) 1991 (Just Terms Act). Section 5 of the Just Terms Act provides that the regime within that Act applies to all acquisitions of land whether by agreement or compulsory process.
