Conduct and produce interviews emergency information feature reports and broadcast specials.
Present stories on our website and distribute content across new and social media platforms.
Assist in expanding the use of our website and new media products.

Write produce and announce hourly newscasts and local news stories.
Create and deliver emergency information public service announcements and onair news promotions.
Produce weekly featurelength stories including public safety reports every other week.
Deliver daily brief hard news stories interviews regular onair newscasts and social media updates.
Edit copy and audio for broadcast.
Serve as a host/anchor onair as needed.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Be available for weekend early morning or evening shifts especially during emergencies.

Job Description:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Writing and producing audiorich news stories.
Producing interviews emergency information feature reports and broadcast specials.
Presenting stories on the web site and distributing stories and information and promotion on new and social media vehicles.
Assisting in expanding the use of web site and new media products.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Writing producing and announcing hourly newscasts and local news stories.
Writing announcing and producing emergency information public service announcements and onair news promotions as well as other assignments as determined by supervisor.
Producing weekly feature length stories with one concerning public safety every other week daily brief hard news stories interviews or actualities regular onair newscasts daily social media updates and editing of copy and audio.
Serving as a host/anchor onair as needed.
Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This position will require weekend early mornings or evenings whether or not there is an emergency.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include
Bachelors degree in journalism communications or a related field from an accredited institution as well as familiarity with integrating areas of multimedia technology and techniques OR a minimum of four 4 years of proven work experience in journalism communications or a related field.
Proven announcing skills with an emphasis on news presentation.
A working knowledge of FCC rules and regulations relating to studio operations and journalistic standards.
Ability to master new technologies and understand the basics of webbased publishing.
Excellent research writing editing proofreading and interviewing skills as well as ability to read scripts and conduct news interviews.
Knowledge of the mechanics of Standard English grammar and AP style.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Must be highly organized with an eye for detail.
Knowledge of all facets of online content production including writing for web copy editing graphic design and prefer those with HTML photography and audio/video production skills.
A selfstarter who can perform duties without direct supervision.
Valid Florida drivers license.
Extensive creativity with expertise in the operation of all standard field studio broadcast computer equipment and software.
Ability to write edit and produce news and public service spots and promotional spots as well as present them onair on the station web site and through social and new media such as Twitter Facebook and other media tools.
The following is preferred:
A minimum of one 1 year of proven experience with digital content creation and web publishing in a broadcast or digital news environment.
Proven experience with social media platforms.
Broad interest in and knowledge of issues of concern to the region and current events.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an ability to sit and stand for long periods of time walk bend lift reach up stoop and carry items occasionally in excess of twentyfive 25 pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate vehicles and standard office machines and broadcast recording equipment. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards.
