OVERVIEW

The Promise vision is to fulfill the promise that God sets the lonely into families (Psalm 68:6. Promise mobilizes church communities to meet three goals: 1 Prevent children from coming into the foster care system. 2 Intervene when children enter the system. 3 Connect children and families when children need a permanent home. The Promise model hinges on developing strong Family Advocacy Ministries (FAMs) in local churches to accomplish this work. The Promise staff works diligently to guide these FAMs to success and to give them the best resources available to maximize impact.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Georgia State Director is responsible for leading the growth and development of churches donors and other key stakeholders in Georgia with occasional targeted efforts in other parts of the Southeast. This individual will invite churches to commit to serving vulnerable children through giving serving or both. Specifically this leader will divide time recruiting churches to launch FAMs and soliciting churches and donors to give financially towards the mission of Promise686. The individual will show unique initiative in managing a multiregion effort and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders including pastors and state DHS leadership.

Recruiting Funding and Churches:

• Passionately communicate the needs of vulnerable children and the impact of the FAM model conveying details of all programs available to churches
• Create strategic growth plans including funding in regions of Georgia leaning on local businesses and other key stakeholders when necessary
• Reach out to churches key staff to establish introductory meetings and regular regional awareness meetings inviting new churches to attend when new areas are being established
• Clearly and consistently relay details of church partnership including financial expectations and next steps for enrolling new churches
• Successfully solicit key decision makers in new churches and existing FAMs for their commitment to give or launch the church into service
• Collaborate with the FAM Coaches documenting communication with churches ensuring churches have a fast and seamless transition into service
• Keep in consistent contact with the Vice President of Engagement regarding funding from churches in line with specific annual revenue goals and church activation goals

• Align fundraising plans in conjunction with the Promise686 development office (recording activity and progress in Salesforce)
• Understand and convey the value of the FAM Software Platform
• Maintain a portfolio of strong relationships with pastors and key individual donors expressing gratitude and reporting on the work done via their donations
• Complete occasional local grant applications and report impact as required by foundations

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years of experience in church or community development or other related fields including fundraising or sales
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail and followthrough
• Dedicated to Promise686s Mission and Core Values
• Aggressive learner who asks great questions
• Strong bridgebuilder and contributor in team environments
• Willingness to give and receive feedback and direction
