Job Description Summary
Fox Valley Technical College is collecting a pool of student job applicants interested in working in Facilities as a Summer Grounds Crew Member. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience while earning money to help fund your education!Work hours are MondayFriday 6:002:30
Desired to fill five full time positions for summer and two for fall part time.
Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Perform lawn care including cutting trimming and removal using powered and/or hand operated equipment.
- Removal of weeds.
- Removal of litter and trash from parking lots and grounds.
- Irrigation of lawns trees and plant material as needed.
- Provide necessary care for plants and trees such as trimming/pruning insect and disease control using integrated pest management practices including cultural chemical and biological methods.
- Perform minor maintenance on grounds equipment for safe operation: including checking engine oil air filters brakes and lights refueling daily cleanup of equipment.
- Maintain order in storage areas.
- Perform other duties relating to maintaining grounds as requested by Vehicle Maintenance & Grounds Team Lead.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
Licenses Certifications and Other Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License preferred.
- Subject to FVTCs Motor Vehicle Records Check.
- WI State UTV/ATV Certification required for ages 17 and under.

Work Environment
- Work must be completed in person.
Work environment may change based upon college needs.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting: This role requires extended periods of sitting while performing tasks and utilizing computer systems.
- Lifting and Carrying: The role requires occasional/continuous lifting and carrying of light to moderate items 50lbs).
- Climbing: Capability to climb stairs or ladders if applicable to the job.
- Fine Motor Skills: This role may need precise hand movements or manual dexterity for activities such as writing on a whiteboard demonstrating experiments or using instructional technology like computers.
- Repetitive Motions: Capacity to perform repetitive motions such as typing without discomfort or injury.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees candidates and stakeholders both inperson and through electronic means.
- Driving: Valid drivers license and ability to operate a vehicle if driving is a requirement of the position.

Additional Information
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors including experience qualifications education relevant certifications internal equity and market data. Note: Internal applicants wage will be based upon the applicable compensation guidelines.
