IB Spanish Teacher
Job Description:
The DePaul College Prep World Language Department seeks a collaborative energetic and positive educator for the role of an IB Spanish teacher. This position also includes lower level sections. The ideal candidate is a qualified teacher with the following characteristics:
- Completed Category 1 or higher of IB tranining;
- 35 years experience teaching in the IB Diplomma Programme;
- Openminded enthusiastic individual with a passion and appreciation for a range of cultures & languages;
- Eager and willing to collaborate with members of a growing world language team;
- Comfortable working in a growing dynamic work environment;
- Familiar with the implementation of ACTFL standards;
- Familiar with the creation and implementation of ACTFLbased IPAs;
- Is a native speaker or is fluent in the target language;
- Competent or willing to learn to become competent in curriculum & assessment design;
- Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
- Ability to integrate culturally responsive practices into daily teaching.
Qualifications:
BA degree in Spanish
Illinois PEL (teacher certification)
MA or MEd. is preferred
