Job Description
Syracuse University is seeking a skilled Web Developer with full stack development experience with a strong emphasis on modern frontend interface and site development. They will join the broader digital development team within the Division of Marketing to help develop and maintain the central web presence of Syracuse University Syracuse. This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining the code and template files controlling centrallysupported themes used on other University websites. The Web Developer position will work closely with the UI/UX Designer to ensure frontend usability design and accessibility requirements are met and help manage and maintain the Digital Design System used by University websites. They will lead discussion on industry bestpractices with particular focus on new and emerging technologies features and trends.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Syracuse and other flagship digital properties of Syracuse University. Assist with development and maintenance of code for centrally supported themes templates and applications distributed across the University. Manage and maintain the Digital Design System DDS used by University websites. QA (in collaboration with the Cloud Engineer and development team) for security and performance the UI/UX designer for frontend functionality and accessibility and the digital and SEO strategists for template hierarchy technical SEO and CMS functionality. Professional development and mentoring of junior developer teammates.
