THE CHALLENGE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Strategic Sourcing to join our dynamic team at Onward Energy. This pivotal role will be responsible for leading the Strategic Sourcing function which involves overseeing the procurement of goods and services essential to our operations. The Director will manage a dedicated team of 35 professionals ensuring that all sourcing activities align with our companys strategic goals and objectives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to drive cost savings and operational efficiencies across the organization.
• Lead the sourcing and procurement activities for all major capital projects and operational needs.
• Manage supplier relationships negotiations and contract management to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
• Analyze market trends and leverage industry knowledge to identify opportunities for strategic sourcing improvements.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Oversee the performance and development of the Strategic Sourcing team providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
• Report regularly to the SVP of Finance Tax and Accounting on sourcing activities cost savings and other key performance indicators.

THE PROFILE TO SUCCEED

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management Engineering or a related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing procurement or supply chain management ideally within the power generation industry for thermal and renewable assets across multiple geographies.
• Proven track record of achieving significant cost savings and value creation through strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex supplier relationships and contracts.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to think strategically and make datadriven decisions.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing and developing highperforming teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in procurement and supply chain management software and tools.

• Successful leadership of strategic sourcing functions within a large complex organization.
• Experience in the independent power sector or a related industry with a deep understanding of the market dynamics and procurement practices specific to this field.
• A history of driving cost savings and operational efficiencies through innovative sourcing strategies and supplier management.
• Ability to navigate and manage the complexities of sourcing for a multistate operation.
• Experience with Workday ERP system a strong plus.
