As a Substation Engineer for Welty Energy you will provide engineering oversight on client substation projectsprovide technical assistance to the Welty Project Management Team as requestedrepresent the client and provide bestinclass service while also consulting on select projects where your expertise and guidance is requested.
This position can be remote in and around the Midwest!
Responsibilities can include:
- Perform quality reviews on client substation projects designed by contracted engineering firms focusing on oneline and threeline diagrams AC and DC schematics communication schemes physical drawings and perform spotcheck on wiring diagrams.
- Verify projects are following all applicable client standards.
- Provide guidance to engineering firms on projects.
- Perform site visits when necessary.
- Interface with clients engineering groups and project management team to provide regular and timely updates.
- Consult on internal projects when requested by the Director Project and Portfolio Management.

- Share knowledge and train oncoming Project Engineers.
- Establish trust and healthy rapport with client and contract engineer firms.
- Collaborate with Management Team to foster a productive and encouraging environment.
Education/Experience:
- Minimum:Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering at an ABET accredited university
- 5 years of experience as a Substation Engineer
- EIT Certification with the intention to pursue PE license
- PE License Preferred
Travel:
- 1015 travel (project specific)
