What we are looking for
We are looking for a Payments Officer to join our Finance Team. To be successful you will share our values commitment and motivation to make a difference for our residents clients and communities.
About the role
The Payments Officer will play a pivotal role in delivering an exemplary service to users around the Council for the processing of invoices in a timely manner ensuring that invoices are processed within terms.
You will be key to ensuring that our key Performance Indicators (KPIs) improve and remain strong.
You will play a key part in managing supplier relationships by reconciling statements and managing the aged creditors report.
You will provide support to the Senior Payments Officer in managing the weekly payment run ensuring that invoices are paid within terms to suppliers.
About you
You will have an enthusiasm for ensuring a right for time approach and be able to communicate effectively with users around the Council to deal with queries so that invoices are processed in an efficient and timely manner.
You will have experience of working in a finance environment and have a history of processing invoices supplier statement reconciliations and dealing with queries.
You will need strong Microsoft Office skills and be able to use formulas to streamline processes.
We are looking for someone with good analytical skills who can provide advice and information to colleagues across council teams and to suppliers.
A DBS check will be required for this role.
