About the Company:
Cactus Feeders is an Amarillo Texas based cattle company. Originally founded by the Engler Family in 1975 Cactus is now 100 Employee Owned producing a million head of fed cattle annually. The Company has locations throughout the Texas Panhandle Southwest Kansas and Eastern Colorado.
Location: Frontier Feedyard in Spearman Texas
Job Description:
Frontier Feedyard is 1 of 10 Cactus Feeders Feedyard locations based in Spearman Texas. Our team is seeking a Shop Manager to serve as the Lead Mechanic within the Yard R&M Department. A good candidate for the role would be goal orientated motivated and skilled in the maintenance and repairs of vehicles/machinery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Adhere by all OSHA safety rules and regulations regarding shop operations and safety
- Inspect vehicles and machinery for maintenance and repairs (oil changes tire care etc.
- Perform daily housekeeping duties of the shopand upkeep feedyard facilities
- Work in a timely and efficient manner
- Work in a fastpaced environment
- Manage the shop and Yard R&M employees
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for 810 hours a day
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of mechanical experience(preferred)
- Quick learnerwith the ability to adapt
- Team playerwith the ability to communicate effectively with others
