JOB SUMMARY
Lead the Citys external and internal recycling and waste diversion efforts working with residents waste haulers and other industry stakeholders. Collaborate with other City departments on internalfacing environmental initiatives and serve as the Citys representative and primary spokesperson for advancing and promoting communitywide sustainability and environmental initiatives. Develop educational campaigns to inform the community on singlestream recycling program and other environmental programs. Plan and organize events such as the Big Sioux Stewardship Summit the Big Sioux River Cleanup and other Cityhosted public events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in natural sciences environmental management business or public administration communications or related degree along with a demonstrated interest in recycling and sustainability; or any such combination of education experience and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority. Four 4 years related experience is preferred.
Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a valid drivers license.

The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6 match. Additionally employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.

11 paid holidays and 2 personal leave days each calendar year.
New employees are granted 40 hours of vacation at time of hire and accrue an additional 2 weeks in their first year.
Sick leave accrues over 96 hours per year.
