The Barowsky School of Business is seeking a parttime instructor to teach a course in the Master of Science in Cybersecurity program during the Summer of 2025 (June August 2025. The class meets on Mondays online.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a threeunit course at the graduate level
  • Evaluate and grade student work and provide feedback to students
  • Mentor and advise students on the progress of their projects and coursework
  • Uphold academic performance standards and integrity
  • Instructors are required to work with the School to complete assessments of the course for AACSB Assurance of Learning purposes

Course Description

  • MSC 5710 Emerging Technologies and Special Topics in Cybersecurity 6/30/20258/6/2025; Mondays online from 6:0010:00 PM) This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental concepts applications and challenges posed by emerging technologies in the realm of cybersecurity. It empowers students with the essential knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex intersection of cybersecurity and cuttingedge technologies preparing them for the everevolving digital landscape. Exploring both defensive and offensive perspectives the course delves into transformative domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) Machine Learning (ML) and Zero Trust architecture. Students will investigate the practical application of the latest cloud technologies and their profound impact on cybersecurity strategies. The curriculum spans a diverse range of topics including Blockchain Internet of Things (IoT) cryptocurrency quantum computing critical infrastructure drones robots and wearables highlighting their significance in securing the digital ecosystem. Students will gain valuable insights into the integration of these technologies across various industries and proactively engage in longterm strategic thinking for their widespread adoption and protection of organizational assets.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Technology Information Security/Cybersecurity or a closely related field
  • Professional work experience in Informaton Risk Management IT/Cybersecutity industry
  • Must be a California resident. Please DO NOT apply if you are not a California resident.
  • Google Suite: Docs Gmail Calendar Drive Sheets and Slides
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Excel Word and PowerPoint
  • Zoom
  • Digital Camera

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD degree in Technology Information Security/Cybersecurity or a closely related field
  • Teaching experience at the graduate level especially in cybersecurity management cyber risk leadership or business leadership with a cybersecurity focus
  • Industry experience in cybersecurity leadership roles such as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Director of Security or Security Operations Manager
  • Leading cybersecurity teams or managing largescale cybersecurity programs in private public or government sectors
  • Industry Certifications: CISSP CISM CRISC CGEIT CISA and others
  • Leadership and management experience in the context of cybersecurity including skills in team management executive communication and cybersecurity budgeting
  • Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) experience
