Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our team. This position will require the candidate to work closely with government customers contractor Project Lead Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Application Vendor and Application End Users. The candidate must have experience in system monitoring troubleshooting patching and security. The role demands an individual who is proactive detailoriented and capable of working independently while adhering to customer requirements and timelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with government customers contractor Project Lead ISSO Application Vendor and Application End Users.
  • Perform daily system monitoring and monthly patching tasks.
  • Troubleshoot network and application performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Respond promptly to system issues by troubleshooting and resolving them through a ticketing tracking system. In certain circumstances report to customer location during offhours for issue resolution.
  • Deploy software patches on a monthly basis during offhours at the customer location.
  • Implement system hardening and security through the application of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and patching.
  • Provide support and maintenance for Oracle database environments on Windows and CentOS servers.
  • Create or update documentation related to system operations and processes ensuring clarity and simplicity.

Create/Revise Documentation Including:

  • Daily Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Security Test Procedures (STP) based on Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM)
  • System Install Procedures (SIP)
  • System Administration Guide (SAG)
  • System User Manual (SUM)
  • Interface Control Document (ICD)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI clearance and pass a polygraph.
  • Bachelors degree in a related field with 8 years of relevant experience. Alternatively 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with System Administration.
  • Active Security (DoD 8570 Baseline certification for IAT Level II).
  • Proven ability to install configure and maintain systems per project specifications.
  • Experience with the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
  • Experience maintaining applications in SQL Server or Oracle database environments.
  • Experience writing scripts to monitor system services resources and data mining logs.
  • Proficient in writing/editing PowerShell scripts.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Windows 2016 or higher and Red Hat Linux 8 or higher operating systems.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud and VMware.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for serverbased applications and IT infrastructure components.
  • Ability to perform occasional afterhours tasks including system restarts application upgrades and software maintenance.
  • Ensure proper documentation of system operation and maintenance procedures.
  • Perform performance monitoring and provide issue documentation including recommendations to management.
  • Maintain and patch systems software and applications to eliminate security vulnerabilities and ensure technology currency.
  • Participate in change management processes including patch compliance and Information Assurance Validation Testing.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Anticipate and address potential issues proactively.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with Tomcat 8.5 or higher.
  • Familiarity with JAVA Open JDK/JRE 11.
