Job Description
Responsibilities / Tasks
THE POSITION
To provide Design/ detail Engineering and other technical support in the preparation/presentation of proposals and projects.
The key priorities for the role:
- Upon securing a contract / order the incumbent (depending upon the size and complexity of the project) may be required to operate independently or as part of a project team to develop General arrangement and Fabrication /manufacturing of Components Structures Ducting as well as other documents/drawings for the project.
The tasks and responsibilities for the role include:
- Hands on Design experience of Food/ Beverages/ Dairy equipment like Tanks (Atmospheric /pressurized and jacketed) Shell and tube type condenser and callendria ducting system is highly desirable.
- Ability to understand the Design analysis report Generated on Design software/ program Manual or MS office base and Design code.
- Knowledge about Equipment Ducting Structure Etc.
- Hiproficiency in Autodesk Inventor Autodesk Vault AutoCAD mechanical
- Work cooperatively with the team of engineers and technical staff in the Business Unit in the preparation of quotations and of projects as and when required.
- Create drawings from basic 2D/3D required to complete a project; drawing multiple views of the system components/Equipment and parts; depicting relationship of components and parts; identifying dimensions angles curvatures tolerances and materials.
- Participate in the review of plant equipment and structures as required.
- Schedule and control own workflow to meet deadline commitments.
- Undertake control of design and drafting for small to medium sized projects as required.
- Preserve and improve design knowledge and experience.
- Check prints by utilizing GEA checking procedures.
- Work cooperatively with the Company administrative staff.
- Develop the Drawings according to given sketches P&IDs layout and specifications under the direction of engineering team.
- Administration
- Maintain appropriate records by filing drawings project notes and specifications using the local regions filing procedures.
- Keep up to date on all new products product changes and general processing trends.
- Prepare weekly timesheets and project reports.
- Assist in other parts of the Companys business as required to ensure the overall effectiveness of the Company.
Travel Requirements:
- The Engineer will be based in Vadodara Office.
- Travel Which may involve extended periods stay on sites throughout India location may require based on Project requirement.

Your Profile / Qualifications
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Technical Designer should be detail oriented possess good English language communication skills both verbal and written.
Must be selfmotivated.
Must possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently as required.
Qualification:
Degree/Diploma mechanical Engineer
Experience
Minimum 6 to 8 years of work experience in the field of mechanical design Engineering.
Required languages
Full working proficiency in English
Software proficiency
- Autodesk Inventor
- Autodesk Mechanical
- Autodesk Vault
Relevant work experience
- Hands on experience in design and detailing of Hygienic Equipment Design for Dairy/ Food/ Beverages Ducting system/ Structural steel is highly desirable
- Mechanical Drawing of Equipment Ducting structure P&ID Layout piping Etc.
- Detail drawing and dimensioning according to all international and Indian standard.
Other Skills required.
Computer literacy with demonstrated experience in using the Internet Microsoft Office (i.e. Word Excel) MS Project preferred Etc..
Interpersonal skills:
- Part of a team with a common design sense. Needs to be able to communicate openly their criteria and accept new designs and improvements analyzing advantages and disadvantages in an objective manner but also taking care of aesthetical aspects.
- Needs to be able to persuade the client (internal or external) for getting a GEA fingerprint in the design but respecting their preferences.
- Needs to be creative and innovative but taking care about learned lessons.
- Ability to communicate within the organization to all levels.
Communication requirements for the role:
- Internal stakeholders: GEA Site Project Quality and HSE Managers Project Engineering Regional Sales Technical design teams Global Engineering pool teams Supply chain and Logistics.
- External stakeholders: Customers Site HSE and Quality managers GEA sub suppliers.
- Type of communication: Face to Face email and online meetings will be used to negotiate and harmonize internal/external stakeholders about successful project delivery.
