Teacher of the Deaf
6month interim contract to start September 2024

London
Up to 400 per day (Inside IR35

Reporting into the Head of Service you will be providing support to a primary academy school. You must be a fully qualified teacher of the Deaf and fully qualified in British Sign Language.

As a Teacher of Deaf (ToD) your primary focus will be to provide expert advice strategies and interventions to promote the overall wellbeing and academic success of students within the Virtual School.

This a fantastic opportunity for an education specialist who has an innovative approach to delivering quality and effective Education services.

Your responsibilities as Teacher of Deaf (ToD):

  • The successful candidate will hold QTS and have previous experience working as a Teacher of Deaf.
  • Travel is required to conduct face to face assessments.
  • The ability to assess and provide support plans for individual children within schools across the borough.
  • Work closely with teaching staff parents and external agencies to create a collaborative and supportive network for students.

Your previous experience as Teacher of Deaf (ToD):

  • Conducting thorough assessments of students and to develop tailored intervention plans to address their specific challenges.
  • Work closely with teaching staff parents and external agencies to create a collaborative and supportive network for students.
  • Provide oneonone and small group support to students helping them build resilience coping strategies and social skills.
  • Regularly assess and monitor the progress of student adjusting intervention plans as necessary to ensure positive outcomes.
