Community Resilience Empowering Safety through Strategic Collaboration
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Planning Resilience and Response Specialist to join us on a 12month temporary contract.
The Emergency Planning team are responsible for preparing for the effective management and coordination of the Local Authority response to incidents and emergencies working alongside the emergency services to protect the health and welfare of the public and facilitate the longterm recovery of the environment and community affected.
As an Emergency Planning Resilience and Response Specialist you will be responsible for identifying assessing and mitigating against risks associated with the projects and programmes in your remit. This will include providing advice and guidance and remedial actions to senior managers directors and elected members. You will prepare emergency plans in line with statutory requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act Pipeline Safety Regulations Radiation Regulations and COMAH. Other duties will include maintaining testing and leading on the development of corporate and county wide emergency plans ensuring effective multiagency responses.
Our ideal candidate will be educated to Masters Degree level in a relevant field or hold an equivalent qualification or significant experience in a similar specialist role. You will hold membership with a professional business continuity body such as the Business Continuity Institute. Working knowledge of statutory and nonstatutory emergency planning guidance alongside knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 will be essential.
To excel in this role you will have the ability to analyse very complex issues have a proven ability to work well in pressured situations and have significant experience in supporting and running debriefing / review processes and training sessions / conferences in relation to emergency response.
