Sacred Heart Catholic School in Floresville is seeking seasonal workers for our Summer Program. Responsibilities include the supervision of students in grades 3K 5th grade.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
  • Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Supports and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
  • Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and takes precautionary measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self and others.
  • Takes a solutionoriented approach in their interactions and undertakings as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Differentiates lessons and activities so they are appropriate for students of various ages and abilities.
  • Assist and supervise children during all activities.
  • Assist children with meal/snack time and cleanup.
  • Cleanup site when children depart. Inspect and return supplies to appropriate place. Follow proper cleaning requirements and procedures.
  • Adhere to policies procedures and childcare guidelines in a proactive manner making the safety and care of children primary focus.
  • Build a positive relationship with each child and foster positive connections between participants. Actively engage with children at all times with the goal of fostering the positive development of each child and the group.
  • Interact professionally and appropriately with children parents school staff community members and partners.
  • Effectively manage assigned group. Maintain and enforce progressive discipline policy. Report observations and incidents (e.g. discipline accidents inappropriate social behavior etc. to site coordinator or school principal.
  • Complete all other relevant program duties assigned by the summer school coordinator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements


Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understand and apply basic child and adolescent development principles.
  • Communicate and develop positive relationships with youth
  • Adapt facilitate and evaluate ageappropriate activities with and for the group
  • Involve and empower youth.
  • Identify potential risk factors (in a program environment) and take measures to reduce risk.
  • Care for involve and work with families and community.
  • Work as part of a team and show professionalism.
  • Demonstrate the attributes and qualities of a positive role model.
  • Interact with and relate to youth in ways that support asset building.
  • Must be detail oriented organized selfmotivated work well independently and on a team.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problemsolving skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • High School Diploma
  • At least 18 years of age

  • Reliable transportation
