Job Description

Employment Type: Parttime Casual/Contract Based/Subcontractor

Job brief:

We are looking for passionate and subject matter expert tutors to join our team in offering tutorials assessment and feedback to learners to help them gain a better understanding of relevant course topics with courses taking place both in person and online.


Responsibilities


  • To lead student tutorials with specific learning outcomes within a clear and established teaching program/framework;
  • To foster/stimulate discussion and debate amongst the students on key course topics/set reading to promote and further understanding of the subject matter;
  • To carry out the necessary preparation for each tutorial to be able to guide discussions answer queries and identify areas where students may encounter problems or difficulties;
  • To undertake marking of coursework and assignments and provide appropriate feedback to students;
  • To monitor student progress highlighting any concerns to the module coordinator/lecturer;
  • To record attendance at each tutorial and report this in the agreed manner;
  • May be required to attend module (and possibly exam board) meetings;
  • To undertake the necessary training participates in staff training and meetings as required;
  • To provide guidance/support for the final examination/assignment/ project/thesis as applicable;
  • Resolving client complaints and reporting any accidents to the Head of Institute and IQA Lead;
  • Contribute to the team environment by assisting in all areas;
  • Assist in any adhoc duties that might arise in the Company.






Requirements

  • A minimum of 12 months of experience in a role equivalent to the qualification taught;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts in a clear and understandable manner;
  • Ability to lead groups and stimulate discussions in the subject area;
  • Good organisation skills and the ability to meet marking deadlines;
  • Able to deal with sensitive situations and confidential information.
