Position Overview
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for a faculty position in Spanish beginning Fall 2025.
This position is being offered at the Lecturer level. We seek an energetic innovative and studentcentric Spanish language educator who can contribute to the Spanish program by teaching such courses as Spanish for Heritage Speakers Elementary Spanish and Intermediate Spanish including Early College High School sessions. The successful candidate for this position will also provide leadership in developing curricula and experiential learning opportunities for diverse student populations with internships in business and industry sectors and servicelearning in Spanishspeaking communities.
We are interested in building a highquality applied Spanish program with a focus on bilingual and biliteracy workplace skills leading to career opportunities particularly for heritage language students. We seek an educator who can help develop a strong Professional Spanish Graduate Certificate as well as a Master of Arts in Spanish.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Expectations for lecturers at UNTDallas include excellent teaching and service resulting in contributions equivalent to a fourcourse load each semester. This workload expectation can be fulfilled through a combination of teaching service and program development. Faculty are also expected to participate in such service activities as curriculum development student recruiting and advising program assessment and committee leadership.

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Spanish or other closely related field
Evidence or demonstrated potential for excellence in scholarship
Experience in curriculum development and developing interdisciplinary degree programs
Experience in developing and implementing service learning and experiential learning in curricular and cocurricular settings
Experience in service activities for university and community
Experience in grant writing or grant management
Demonstrated ability in training and supervising instructors of Spanish
