We are open to all applications for positions at all EMS campuses (Canadian TX Pampa TX Groom TX McLean TX). We are hiring for all shifts including fulltime parttime and PRN. This is an ongoing job application.
HCHD EMS Department provides a broad range of services to aid in the response screening and treatment of medical conditions and emergent injuries. A few responsibilities of the Paramedic include:
Responding to emergency and nonemergency calls calmly efficiently and promptly;
Administering basic and restricted advanced life support to patients at the scene en route to the hospital and in a
prehospital setting in accordance with federal state and local laws regulations and standards;
Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed;
Rescuing and extricating victims of accidents sudden illness or entrapment using proper rescue and medical techniques;
Treating patients at the scene en route to the hospital and in a prehospital setting in accordance with federal state local laws regulations and standards;
Communicating with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/ or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center;
Maintaining order at scenes possibly to include crowd disbursement and restraint of family and friends;
Completing patient care forms insurance forms evaluation forms and all other required forms/documents in a competent and timely
fashion; and
Other duties as may be assigned by direct supervisor or his/her designee.
Education/ Certifications/ Licenses Requirements:
A minimum of either a high school diploma or a GED as evidence of completion of a high school education
The employee must have and maintain a current state (Texas) Paramedic credential
The employee must possess and maintain a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
American Heart Association BLS/ACLS/PALS certification
EVOC training (both must be completed within 6 months of hire)
And other certifications as required.
Minimum Experience Abilities Required and Special Requirements:
This position requires at leastone yearof experience as a Paramedic.
The employee must possess basic working knowledge of computers and be able to enter necessary data into a computer.
