Shift: Full-Time 24 Hour Shifts

Are you passionate about making a real impact in your community Marshalltown Hospital - Emergency Medical Services is searching for a driven Paramedic to join our extraordinary team. Our service boasts a fleet of seven ambulances and one SUV delivering critical pre-hospital 911 care across Marshall County and parts of Jasper and Grundy Counties. We also handle interfacility transports for several UnityPoint Health locations.
With over 7000 calls/incidents each year youll face exciting and diverse challenges every day. Our trucks are equipped with cutting-edge technology including the Stryker Power-load System Zoll Cardiac Monitor LUCAS CPR device and Parapac ventilator. Responsibilities
- Assesses the needs of patients and families providing appropriate prehospital medical care.
- Adapts and adjusts the patients care plan according to the patients needs in the prehospital setting.
- Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patients care.
- Carries out high quality patient care while following the scope of practice set out by the State of Iowa Public Health Department Bureau of EMS and this ambulance service.
- Must be able to transport a behavioral health patient utilizing an ambulance or secure car.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Successful completion of EMS training from an approved training course.
- Valid Iowa Chauffeurs License.
- Current certification at EMT-PM level is required.
- Writes reads comprehends and speaks fluent English.
- Basic computer knowledge using word processing spreadsheet email and web browser.
