Purpose: Accountable for delivery of patient care in the pre-hospital setting and restocking and cleanliness of the ambulances. Also any duties as assigned by EMS Coordinator.
Reporting Relationship: To paramedics and directly to the EMS Coordinator.
Focus: Delivery of emergency medical care to scope of practice level and Medical Director approved protocols.
Physical Demands: Work is primarily active with walking standing bending stretching and lifting. Must be able to lift patients and push occupied cots. Ability to lift 75 pounds. Sit for several continuous hours riding in an ambulance is expected.
Essential Job Requirements:
EMT:
Education: Meets requirements as EMT Certification Licensure and Certification. Attended a certified EMT course and pass the National Registry EMT CAT testing exam and practical exam.
Experience: No experience required. Training provided.
No DUI or felony convictions.
Certification: Required CPR NREMT
Paramedic:
Education: Current ND NREMT - Paramedic Licensure
Experience: Previous experience preferred.
No DUI or felony convictions.
Certification: Required CPR ACLS NREMT
Shifts:
6a-6p / 6p-6a
On call pay w/ call back if/when activated.
Must be able to go En Route with ambulance within 10 minutes from time of page out. If live more than 10 minutes from ambulance garage staff are required to stay in ambulance housing provided by WRHS.
