Job Description

Position Title:Gate Operations Representative Pacific Amphitheatre

Pay Range :$17.00 per hour

Position Purpose:

Welcomes guests to the annual OC Fair and ensures proper admission at the gates. This is a seasonal temporary position not to exceed 122 days.

Work Schedule:

WednesdaySunday 5:00pm11:00pm.

Essential Functions:

Monitors the admission of fair patrons guests staff exhibitors and contractors for proper ticket or credential before allowing them to enter.
Provides frontline bag inspection for guests and staff by identifying dangerous and/or nonpermitted items and ensures these prohibited items are not brought through the gates but are properly secured and/or discarded.
Operates ticket scanning equipment and provides guidance for other employees in its proper use.
Provides excellent customer service to Fair patrons by answering questions and providing information.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age; employees assigned to bag inspection must be at least 18 years of age.
Demonstrated excellent customer service skills a must.
Excellent teamwork skills required.
Must be able to quickly learn the layout of the fairgrounds and general fair information.
Must be available to work 23 days of the annual OC Fair.
Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and must frequently use hands and fingers to operate handle or feel objects tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Work Environment:

Will work in a fastpaced environment in an outdoor and possibly indoor environment during all types of weather. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
