Job Description
Christ the King Catholic School is seeking a full time 8th grade teacher for the 24/25 school year. Christ the King Catholic School is a multiage elementary school and has been educating children in Northwest Detroit.
- Develops and implements a wellplanned standardsbased curriculum
- Consistently creates a high level of active student engagement and studentled learning
- Develops and uses effective methods of evaluation that are directly related to curriculum objectives and to concepts and skills taught; consistently and effectively evaluate student progress
- Oversees the planning and implementation of the classroom
- Establishes a classroom atmosphere of caring respect and appropriate expectations which promotes selfdirection and confidence; sets high standards for student behavior and manages inappropriate behavior effectively and respectfully.
- Communicates regularly with families and implements clear communication systems
- Cooperates with school administration; works effectively with all staff members to promote positive relationships with students and parents
- Completes additional operational and professional responsibilities and duties as needed
- Bachelors degree required / Current Michigan teacher certification preferred
