The Project Director for Upward Bound Math and Science is responsible for the comprehensive administration management and supervision of the program. The Director ensures that all activities align with federal TRIO guidelines and focus on enhancing the academic performance and postsecondary enrollment of participating high school students.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daytoday operations of the Upward Bound Math and Science program including the planning implementation and evaluation of program activities.
- Ensure the program adheres to federal TRIO regulations including accurate data collection timely reporting and strict budget management.
- Recruit supervise train and support program staff fostering professional development and ensuring highquality service delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with target schools community organizations and postsecondary institutions to support recruitment retention and program success.
- Monitor the academic progress and outcomes of program participants providing academic and career counseling as necessary.
- Prepare and submit all required reports including annual performance reports to the U.S. Department of Education.
- Oversee the program budget ensuring the efficient use of resources and compliance with federal and institutional guidelines.
- Advocate for the needs of program participants and actively work to eliminate barriers to their academic success.
- Ability to travel as needed for program activities and professional development.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Education:
- Masters degree in education counseling administration or a related field is required. A doctoral degree in Student Personnel Services Counseling Social Work or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 35 years of experience in program management preferably within a TRIO or similar educational support program.
