Founded in 1968 to meet the postsecondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The Colleges fifth president Dr. Mary Way Bolt reports directly to the Board of Trustees.
Cecil College is centrally located in Marylands most northeastern county just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore as well as from Wilmington Delaware.
With a diverse student population Cecil College enrolls approximately 2500 credit students and 3400 noncredit students. Cecil offers associate degrees certificate programs and noncredit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

The ideal candidate will organize and curate professional and student art exhibitions at two College art galleries as well as manage the Colleges online gallery when applicable. As an integral part of the Colleges Arts and Cultural Enrichment Committee the Gallery Coordinator will collaborate with the Arts and Communications faculty and staff to support a variety of arts events assist with administrative tasks and oversee all gallery operations including exhibitions and sales.
Key responsibilities include coordinating the gallery calendar overseeing gallery operations and working with artists students and College personnel. The Gallery Coordinator is responsible for organizing and maintaining gallery documents ensuring smooth daytoday operations and supporting the presentation of 1012 art exhibitions annually. This includes installation deinstallation receptions sales and effective communication with exhibiting artists and students.
Additional duties involve framing artwork and ensuring that gallery spaces materials and supplies are wellmaintained. The Gallery Coordinator will also collaborate with arts faculty and the marketing team to design print and distribute promotional materials across the College local community and to regional arts organizations.
As the primary point of contact for the galleries the Gallery Coordinator will handle public relations including maintaining and updating event information on social media platforms and drafting monthly newsletters. This role also includes assisting with artist workshops coordinating artist talks and fostering collaboration with other College departments.
Additional responsibilities include monitoring art studios and providing support to students as needed. Attendance at all campus art exhibitions and staff meetings is required with flexibility to take on other duties as assigned.
Education: BA or BFA in Art or equivalent experience.
Experience: Experience working in art galleries or handling artwork for exhibition is required. Experience with various art media and techniques including ceramics drawing and painting and digital media. Experience working in a ceramics studio is not required but is a plus.
Skills: Strong office and technology skills with proficiency in Excel. Experience with social media and promotional platforms. Excellent communication and writing skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in performing assigned tasks.
Ability to meet deadlines and work independently while also being team
oriented. Professionalism in the workplace and as a representative of Cecil College
the Arts and Communications Department the Art and Design Program and the College Art Galleries.
Knowledge of Flickr and Mailchimp. Ability to handle large and heavy display materials and artwork such as pedestals and sculpture.

Must be able to lift and move up to a maximum of 50 pounds. The physical activity of this position includes but is not limited to: climbing walking stooping kneeling crouching reaching standing pulling lifting grasping twisting and sitting.
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms e.g. use of safe work place practices with office equipment avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire and building safety regulations and traffic signals when driving.
