Job Description
Intern: Construction Engineer
CKL is currently seeking enthusiasticstudents with an interest in civil engineering who would like the opportunity to grow their skills in the field.
CKL is a multidisciplinary professional services firm headquartered in Chicago Illinois with offices in Atlanta Georgia and Orlando Florida.We provide engineering and construction management services to a variety of public and private clients. CKL is looking for talented leaders to build upon our strengths and grow locally regionally and nationally.
EXPECTATION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
On a daily basis interns will...
- Performdetailed measurements notes and pictures of the proposed transit construction locations/sites
- Obtainaccurate distances and necessary field data using a measuring wheel range finder pole stick or other outside plant engineering tools
- Reviewcontract drawings specifications and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation
- Adhereto safety guidelines set forth by CKL Engineers
- Attendonsite meetings as directed by CKL Engineers
- Attendtraining sessions to maintain and build upon skill knowledge and performance levels
- Assistwith the preparation of Daily Construction Reports (DCRs) and Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs)
- Assistin the maintenance of contract documents and electronic webbased documents for field operations
- Assistall employees in all areas of the project assigned
There may be an opportunity to perform other civil engineering design such as transportation environmental and structural engineering if the candidate is interested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Live in or around the Chicagoland area
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related Undergraduate program.
- Proficiency with MS Excel MS Word and Primavera P6 AutoCAD is a plus
- 3.0 GPA or better required
