Position Description:
As the Construction Project Management Intern your primary responsibilities will be to support the Project Coordinator and government project team by assisting with administrative and documentation-related tasks throughout various stages of commercial construction projects. This internship is designed to offer hands-on exposure to project workflows document control and construction management systems.
Interns will shadow experienced staff primarily the Project Coordinator and learn how to assist with internal project processes file management and reporting. This position is a valuable steppingstone for those pursuing a career in commercial construction or project management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities*
- Assist in organizing and maintaining project documentation
- Help manage submittals RFIs and project logs
- Attend meetings and assist with agenda preparation and note-taking
- Learn project workflows and software tools (e.g. Autodesk Microsoft Office)
- Support the coordination of administrative tasks under the guidance of the Project Coordinator
- Assist with preparing internal reports and documentation for review
- Participate in site walks (when appropriate) and learn about jobsite processes
- Observe communication between project stakeholders to understand the flow of information
- Ask questions seek feedback and proactively engage in learning opportunities
Minimum Required Skills/Abilities:
- Actively enrolled in a degree program (Construction Management Project Management or related field) at an accredited college or university
- Completion of at least two years of coursework (junior or senior standing preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook)
- Willingness to learn in a fast-paced professional construction environment

Other Requirements:
- Possess the right to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Must be at least 18 years old and pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Possess a valid drivers license and an insurable driving record
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
