About Ngwala

Ngwala Willumbong is a leading provider of culturally safe and effective support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We are committed to supporting individuals affected by alcohol and other drug misuse providing them with pathways to recovery through holistic and culturally appropriate rehabilitation programs.

About the Role

The Digital Communications & Project Support Officer is responsible for positively promoting Ngwala and overseeing the implementation of the marketing plan and promoting the association online as well as the creation of digital communication materials for both internal and external use. This role will be responsible for driving our digital communications and social media strategy across our service and corporate programmes working under the direction of our Grants and Project Manager. This role also provides additional support to the Grants and Project Manager in the implementation of projects and programmes as well as applications for funding and to the wider Corporate Services Team where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design and production of internal and external promotional materials advertising and signage as requested by Ngwala staff
  • Assist in planning advertising and promotional campaigns for services on multiple media channels٫ including social media٫ print٫ and otherwise.
  • Assist in the creation of content for the Ngwala website.
  • Maintain up to date information on the website.
  • Plan advertising and promotional campaigns for services on Website.
  • Take ownership of design projects and design page layouts and templates.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing content for our social media channels utilising a social media calendar to ensure success of the channels.
  • Scheduling and posting content in a timely manner across multiple platforms.
  • Responding to enquiries via social media platforms.
  • Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to promote success of activities that will enhance the companys presence.
  • Assisting with the of project plans and completing operational tasks to support plans
  • Assisting with grant applications where required

Skills & Experience

  • Training or relevant experience with photography and videography as well as design skills (on programs such as Photoshop InDesign Illustrator Premier Pro/Final Cut Pro)
  • Understanding of social media platforms and ability to navigate/use systems to support digital content creation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal history and/or culture and commitment to the Aboriginal community
  • Great attitude and passion for social media and digital marketing
  • Exceptional organisation and time management skills

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current Victorian Drivers License
  • National Police Certificate (no older than 3 months).
  • Victorian Employment Working with Children Check
