Job Description
Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is an independent Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary Alberta specializing in the education of children in grades K9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCAs mission is to Teach Truth Inspire Excellence Experience God and Serve through Love. GCA has a head of school two principals three vice principals and a staff of over 125 serving approximately 1000 students.
GCA is currently looking for substitute teachers for the remainder of theschool year.
Characteristics
Successful applicants will possess the following characteristics:
A vibrant Christian faith demonstrating the leadership of Jesus Christ.
The ability to make Biblical values an integral part of school life and integrate them into all subject matter.
Strong understanding of a balanced literacy program.
Clearly defined and well thought out assessment beliefs.
An understanding of brain based learning strategies is considered an asset.
Prepared to work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff as a member of a professional learning community.
Have strong positive interpersonal skills.
Teach students using lessons discussions audiovisual presentations provided by the classroom teacher.
Effective communication skills.
Qualifications
Agrees to and adheres to the GCA Statement of Faith without reservation.
Fluent in English.
Preferred Certifications and Education
Bachelor of Education
AB Interim Certificate AB Letter of Authority or AB Permanent Certificate
