Working Schedule & Consultant Fees: Required to work 20 hours/week with a compensation of $28.85 per hour
Language requirements: English is essential; French or knowledge of a specific Indigenous language is desirable

Cuso Internationals strategy for work in Indigenous communities in Canada is driven by the knowledge that was shared with us over the course of our community visits. It centers on reconciliation mental health strengthening social inclusion and gender equality economic resilience through sustainable development and advancing climate action. We aim to support the important work that Nations and communities are already doing empowering Indigenous youth strengthening community connections promoting cultural sensitivity and traumainformed practices and supporting Indigenous volunteerism. A key piece of implementing such important work is the work that has to be done internally within Cuso changing systems removing barriers and ensuring that Indigenous ways of knowing being and doing are woven throughout the fabric of the organization.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Northern Indigenous Program Specialist is responsible for managing and expanding our microgrant and indigenous community programs in northern Canada ensuring they have a meaningful impact on the communities we serve.
