Job Description
Allied Concrete is seeking highly skilled and safetyconscious Pump Operators to join our dynamic team. Pump Operators at Allied Concrete are responsible for operating concrete pumps at jobsites to deliver readymixed concrete to the final intended location. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the pump to meet the needs of different projects. The Concrete Pump Operator must be adept at handling the equipment and possess a strong knowledge of safety practices and regulations.
Allied Concrete is seeking experienced Pump Operators for our concrete teams in Bozeman MT. We are looking for workers with experience in the following:
- Monitor gauges and inspect equipment to ensure that tank levels temperatures and pressures are at specified levels reporting abnormalities as necessary.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures.
- Record operating data such as products and quantities pumped stocks used gauging results and operating times.
- Communicate with other workers using signals radios or telephones to start and stop flows of materials or substances.
- Read operating schedules or instructions or receive verbal orders to determine amounts to be pumped.
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions following signals from the loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Secure cargo for transport using ropes blocks chains binders or covers.
- Report vehicle defects accidents traffic violations or damage to the vehicles.
- Clean lubricate and repair pumps using hand tools and equipment.
- Connect hoses and pipelines to pumps.
Qualifications and Skills
- Vocational training or jobrelated experience.
- Must hold a valid Class C vehicle operators license and know safe highway practices and regulations.
- Must have sufficient reading and writing ability to read simple instructions and keep routine written records.
- Must have sufficient physical strength and coordination to operate equipment as required.
OTHER:
- Ability to work overtime and Saturdays on an asneeded basis.
- Ability to work on construction projects in both standard and highrisk areas. Construction site work environment will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls sit talk and hear stand climb balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as required.
