Job Description

Alexandria Public Schools Community Education

Compass School Age Childcare Assistant

Compass is Alexandria Community Educations schoolage care program providing before and afterschool nonschool day and summer care for students PreK5th Grade.

The Summer Compass program is held at Woodland Elementary School and the Early Education Center where students and staff:

  • Embark on exciting field trips across Minnesota.
  • Enjoy the Shenanigans indoor playground.
  • Participate in engaging activities like 4H gardening gym time and structured activities.
  • Spend plenty of time outside for fun and exploration!

Perfect for: High school and college students seeking summer work or experience in teaching/child development.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age

Essential Functions

  • Support the planning and implementation of daily child care activities.
  • Supervise site areas and participate in activities aligned with program goals.

Schedule:

  • The program runs June 2August 22 2025 (Closed June 19 & July 4.
  • PartTime: MondayFriday 12:005:30 PM.
  • FullTime Options: MondayFriday 8:004:00 8:304:30 or 9:005:00.

Compensation:$14

Perks: Bonus at the end of summer!
