Job Description

Position: PostDoctoral Fellow in Neuroscience

Organization: Gallo Laboratory Center for Integrative Brain Research (CIBR) Location: JMB Seattle WA

About Us: The Gallo Laboratory at the Center for Integrative Brain Research (CIBR) is at the forefront of investigating the genetic and cellular mechanisms governing neural development and injury and neurodevelopmental disorders in the neonatal Central Nervous System (CNS). Situated within a multidisciplinary and highly interactive environment our laboratory fosters collaboration and innovation. We are dedicated to advancing the understanding of neonatal brain development and function/dysfunction leveraging expertise in genetic mouse models neuroembryology molecular and cellular manipulation electrophysiology and animal behavior.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing research endeavors by: Developing scientific skills commensurate with the postdoctoral level Conducting research and development activities in support of assigned projects Protocol development and review Data collection and analysis Preparation of manuscripts and fellowship applications Training in the conduct of research

Key Features of the Role: Advanced Proficiency in Neurophysiological Techniques: The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in neurophysiological techniques integrating electrophysiology molecular biology and multiomics including PatchSeq. Invivo and/or Exvivo Opto/Chemogenetics: Experience with invivo and/or exvivo opto/chemogenetics techniques is highly desirable. Evaluation of Neuronal Plasticity in Cerebellar Circuits: Demonstrated ability to evaluate neuronal plasticity in cerebellar circuits through current clamp and/or pair recordings is a significant advantage. Murine Models Expertise: Handson experience with murine models of demyelination and perinatal disease is preferred.

Required Education/Experience:

Ph.D. in Neuroscience Biophysics Bioengineer or related field

Preferred:

Strong background in neurophysiology molecular biology and animal models

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively

Compensation Range

$65478.00 $98571.00 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on fulltime employment 2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.

This compensation range is specific to Seattle positions located outside of Seattle may be compensated differently depending on various factors.
