The School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia seeks an innovative scholar in the area of reading and reading disability for a position at the assistant professor (tenuretrack) level. This is a 9month salaried faculty position in the Reading Education Program in the Department of Curriculum Instruction & Special Education.
The school is especially interested in applicants whose work spans reading education and special education. Preference will be given to individuals who have a research focus on upper elementary and secondary grades. This faculty member will collaborate with program and department faculty to design and deliver undergraduate masters and doctorallevel courses in the Teacher Education and Reading Education programs. They will also advise and mentor masters and doctoraldegree students.
The successful candidate will show evidence of experience designing and conducting rigorous research working with collaborators across disciplines seeking extramural research funding and a strong record of scholarship. A strong candidate will also show evidence of collaborating with colleagues to develop course and/or curriculum materials.
