The Opportunity:
Red River Coop is recruiting for the position of Deli Clerk at Southdale Food Store located at 77 Vermillion Road in Winnipeg.This position reports to the Deli Manager.The DeliClerk adds value to our Cooperative by delivering worldclass customer service; ordering and stocking deli merchandise; merchandising and displaying product; cooking and preparing fresh foods; slicing lunch meat and cheese; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Maintain sections of merchandise (luncheon meat cheese home meal replacement hot food bulk product packaged product) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure firstin firstout rotation is followed at all times and that closedated product is reported to the Deli Manager.
- Ensure the deli department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
- Receive inspect and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperaturecontrolled environment.
- Prepare fresh valueadded product and home meal replacement items as per established Coop recipes and procedures. Ensure consistency in ingredients used and preparation method at all times.
- Perform general housekeeping duties to ensure department image and safety standards are followed.

About You:
To be successful in this role you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Previous experience in a retail grocery department preferred but not required
- Ability to lift 30 pounds repeatedly
- Open availability and willingness to work different shifts including days evenings and weekends
