The AES CE O&M team is hiring an Asset Manager to run complex asset portfolios in the renewable or energy field. The Portfolio Asset Manager will support the coaching and development of peers and lead reporting oversight and coordination for a portfolio of renewable energy assets. The Asset Managers are critical in the operation of a large fleet of renewable and energy storage projects across the United States to ensure optimal financial performance of the companys rapidly growing fleet. Responsibilities will include project reporting and coordination of financial commercial compliance management and administrative tasks as well as coordination and oversight of the operations and maintenance of the assets.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for a portfolio of complex renewable energy assets.
  • Enhance and automate core processes and interaction with other teams within AES Clean Energy.
  • Owners Representative tasked with running AES Clean Energys interest in several project portfolios
  • Be responsible for project financial matters (P&L responsibility) prepare annual budgets and continually track and explain variance to budget within assigned portfolios
  • Support resolution or mitigation of any major plant outages as appropriate
  • Collaborate with various teams to identify revenue increasing and risk mitigation opportunities

Project Administration Compliance & Stakeholder Management

  • Be the subject matter expert on all compliance and commercial obligations pursuant to project governing documents and ensure strict compliance including Power Purchase Agreements Hedge Agreements Interconnection Agreements land leases Financing Agreements and LLC Agreements.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of data contained in AES CE renewable energy information system that tracks compliance and key project data by proactively reviewing and summarizing deliverables of contracts and other project documents.
  • Prepare recurring reports on project performance for internal and external parties and respond to inquiries.
  • Ensure the completion of all compliance obligations according to contract requirements and regulatory agencies (including EIA CEC FERC) in a timely fashion.
  • Find opportunities to optimize the financial results while balancing risk through solid management decisions and/or innovative approaches.
  • Work with origination development project project finance and construction management groups to ensure smooth and timely transition of projects into commercial operation as appropriate.
  • Handle daytoday collaborator relationships by developing and maintaining positive work relationships with local and state authorities financing and investor partners regulatory agencies landowners and other entities
  • Handle and resolve any contractual regulatory and commercial issues as they arise.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • 2 years of relevant energy industry experience or asset management background.
  • Passion for the renewable energy industry and demonstrates an intimate knowledge of the market and be able to stay current with changing technologies regulations and trends influencing the continued adoption of renewable energy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal decisionmaking/problemsolving analytical and time management skills.
  • Thorough and selfmotivated with exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Strong learning skills with the ability to independently research understand and implement knowledge in new areas.
  • Strong commercial mentality and demonstrates skills to support a highperformance organization that will deliver operational excellence and meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Validated ability to organize and prioritize work creative problem solver and able to be a great partner with colleagues and contractors.
  • Strong understanding of project finance legal contracts accounting and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Office.
  • Able to demonstrate experience dealing optimally with peers subordinates senior management and unaffiliated third parties.

Education:

  • BA/BS degree with concentration in business finance accounting economics and/or other quantitative fields

Working Conditions:

  • Based in Louisville CO
  • Travel will be required between offices and some travel to sites. Approximately 10 travel.

The expected salary for this position at commencement of employment is between $85000 and $102000/Annual; however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus in addition to a full range of medical dental vision life financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired employee will be in an atwill position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
