Job Description
We are looking for you if you:
- Are a skilled Oracle Database Administrator 5 years of experience in production environments) with passion for learning new technologies
- Have experience with database administration tasks such as High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) performance tuning backups restores and recoveries
- Are open to new ideas bring fresh perspectives to the table and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
Youll get extra points for:
- Comfortable working with databases in private (Oracle DBaaS) and eager to expand your expertise in cloudbased database solutions
- Demonstrating expertise with Oracle database features like Data Pump RMAN and experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting
- A proven track record of working with monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g. ELK Grafana Prometheus)
- Scripting experience with one or more scripting languages or automation solutions (Ansible Bash Python or PowerShell) to automate routine database tasks
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and an understanding of system reliability scalability and fault tolerance.
Your responsibilities:
- Support the full development life cycle for our database environments which include 97 databases from refining user stories to monitoring software in production
- Support the migration of databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL in cloud environments while being open to exploring and implementing other database technologies as needed
- Collaborate closely with other squads and consumers ensuring that the solutions you deliver are scalable futureproof and meet the needs of the business
- Continuously improve database processes through automation helping to optimize performance and reliability
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and database solutions always seeking opportunities for innovation.
Information about the squad:
With INGs Think Forward Strategy we are creating a differentiating customer experience we are providing a Process Automation Platform (using Pega software) 40 countries to enable our strategic ambitions.
The Process Automation Platform/One Pega Platform provides a standard and easy way to digitize processes and providing process automation capabilities like workflow management using Pega BPM software. Part of our Platform as a service model we are providing to our customers services like: Software reusable components Infrastructure Life cycle management Pipelines Self service capabilities and Architectural designed guidance in order for them to build on top of the Platform their customer journey applications helping them with the heavy lifting of the activities that are not a differentiator in their value proposition and providing them with great opportunities for reuse cross teams domains and countries.
The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be Engineer IV.
