Job Description
Position Overview:
The ModerateSevere Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with autism and other moderate to severe disabilities. This role includes developing individualized education programs (IEPs) using evidencebased teaching practices and collaborating with a team of support staff to foster each students academic social and behavioral growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement IEPs: Design individualized plans to meet each students unique learning needs and goals.
- Provide Specialized Instruction: Use appropriate strategies and materials to teach academic social and adaptive skills.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a structured safe and supportive learning environment.
- Data Collection and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students progress and adjust instructional methods to achieve IEP goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other educators paraprofessionals and families to support students development.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Certification: California ModerateSevere Special Education credential.
- Experience: Previous experience working with students with autism and/or moderate to severe disabilities is preferred.
