General Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Project Manager(s) the Assistant Project Manager assists with the development planning general management and organization associated with new and existing school facilities.

Salary:
The full salary range for this position is $76160.44 $97549.10.Offers are made at the beginning of the range.

Assignment:
This position will work fulltime yearround.

Location:
The person in this role will serve the Western Washington area from the Olympia area to the coast. Travel needs will vary by project but you should anticipate at least 50 travel time in this role.

Essential Functions/Other Functions

  1. Assist with the coordination of architects contractors vendors owners and jurisdictional authorities; be responsive to same parties in manner prescribed by Project Manager.
  2. Assist with school facility planning and related prefinancing activities.
  3. Manage RFI Change Orders Submittal logs tracking and reporting status as directed by a Project Manager.
  4. Assist in the creation and monitoring of project schedules and in the management of project financial tracking reports.
  5. Establish and maintain project files in hard copy and electronic formats directed by Project Manager.
  6. Assist with quality assurance through job site walks preparation of daily reports/log photographing construction job sites and maintenance of job site documentation as assigned by Project Manager.
  7. Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills while working with client districts.
  8. Provide construction and contract management support and general project support as needed.
  1. Other duties as assigned.
  2. Work independently and on a team.
  3. Attend workshops/professional development opportunities as recommended and approved by Project Manager.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  1. Bachelors degree in Construction Management Architecture Engineering Business Management or related field; OR an Associates degree and two years of experience in business construction facilities planning architecture design process or owner construction representation; OR a High School Diploma or GED and three years of experience in business construction facilities planning architecture design process or owner construction representation.
  2. Experience using MS Office programs.
  3. Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications.
  4. Must have a valid drivers license.
  1. Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Facilities Planning Management Architecture Business Management or Engineering.
  2. Experience with the State of Washington public works process.
  3. Experience with Bluebeam.
  4. Experience working with the OSPI School Funding Assistance Program.
  5. Experience with CPM or other scheduling systems.

Working Conditions/Employment Requirements

  1. Extended or flexible hours as necessary may include occasional evening and weekend work.
  2. Occasional travel in ESD service regions including overnight travel.
  3. May work in a variety of settings including outdoors on construction sites or in office environments.
Employment Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the WA State Patrol and FBI.
