The role of this Personal CareAssistant
Our personal care assistantsjoin our clients support team providing reliable essential care and supportin their home. You will be employed byHomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support themonly. We have 2 roles available for ourclient as follows:
Post 1 Monday to Friday 36 hours per week shiftsbetween 08:00 20:00 16.15 per hour
Post 2 Waking Nights 36 hours per week on the following set shifts: Thursday 16.15 per hour Saturday and Sunday 20:00 08:00 19.23 per hour
About the Client and Duties
We are looking forexceptional dedicated skilled personal care assistants to join our clientsexisting care team. Our client hascomplex care needs and lives in his own home with his wife whois his main carer.
As a member of the caringteam youll be responsible for a wide range of tasks that can vary day to dayso an amount of flexibility is required. Some of the main duties include:
- Administration of medication
- Moving and Handling with Hoist
- Gastrostomy Care / PEG feeding
- Personal Care
- Assisting in the community
- Administrative duties
- Light housework
Ideally you would also haveprevious experience with Status Epilepticus and practical experience of givingBuccal Midazolam and be able to identify and understand a medicalemergency. It is our clients preferenceto have nonsmokers and you must be ok working with cats in the family home.
Requirements
Training and Support:
- Full induction
- Safeguarding Adults
- Health & Safety / FirstAid / Food Hygiene
- Moving & Handling withHoist
- Gastrostomy Care / PEG Feeding
- You should have excellentcommunication skills
- You will be friendly anddynamic with a strong personality and common sense
- You should have at least 6months of recent complex care experience which will include dealing withseizures PEG feed catheter and administering medication
- For day shifts you must be flexible across all weekday days as shifts can include working on any day Monday to Friday
- For night shifts you must be female only
- You must be happy to work with cats being in the family home
- Commitment to longtermpersoncentred care
- You must be reliablecompassionate and committed to respecting confidentiality
- Nonsmokers only
- Experience with status seizures
