  • At the present time vacancies exist for Summer Student Support Specialists exist for MEP schoolbased campus in Philadelphia at Joseph H Brown Elementary School within the Migrant Education Program (MEP) Student Services Division of the CCIU. These positions will work with migrant children in Philadelphia Bucks Delaware and Montgomery Counties for the duration of the summer only.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree in related field strongly preferred
    • Bilingual speakingpreferred(Spanish Khmer Burmese Karen Qeqchi Swahili Pashto Dari)
    • Experience working with emerging multilingual studentspreferred
    • Experience working with preschool elementary students and/orsecondary school students required
    • Experience working with immigrant or refugee children and familiespreferred
    • Basic computer knowledge required
    • Must have Act 33 and 34 Clearances
    • Must have Federal Criminal History record
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Implement Migrant Education Summer Program for preschool elementary and/or secondary migrant students in Philadelphia Delaware Montgomery and Bucks Counties.
    2. Facilitate reading writing speaking and listening learning across the content areas with migrant students in a classroom setting
    3. Submit weekly lesson plans implement curriculum as provided and submit endofsummer progress reports
    4. Provide regular communication with Migrant Education Program staff and families
    5. Attend summer inservice family meetings and weekly staff meetings

    Joseph H. Brown Elementary

    Estimated Schedule:
    Monday Thursday 6 hours/day 8 AM 2:30 PM)
    Prep Day: July 15th
    Program Dates: June 23rd July 24th

    Hourly RatesSY):

    Project Band 13:$29.70 $37.13per hour
    *Placement on scale commesurate with years of experience in a relevant position*
