Job Description

The Department of Pathology at Yale School of Medicine is seeking an academic pathologist with specialty interest in Head and Neck Pathology. Yale Pathology is a subspecialty practice and the successful candidate would join our Head and Neck pathology team. The Department serves Yale New Haven Hospital and Bridgeport Hospital major teaching and referral centers in Southern Connecticut and a robust outreach program providing consultative services to regional practices and beyond.

Southern Connecticut offers beautiful shoreline affordable housing excellent schools numerous recreational opportunities and easy access to New York City Boston Cape Cod and ski slopes of New England.



Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology (and/or AP/CP) from the American Board of Pathology and eligibility for medical licensure in Connecticut are required. Scholarship is a major requirement of the Department. Protected time is provided for pursuit of academic and research interests. The subspecialty practice supports a oneyear ACGME accredited Endocrine Head and Neck Fellowship program. In addition to teaching and clinical sign out responsibilities the candidate would have ample opportunities for translational research utilizing the stateoftheart resources of our core molecular genomic laboratories and rapidly evolving digital pathology laboratory.

Opportunities for collaborative research with basic scientists are also available and supported by the Yale Head & Neck SPORE program. Additional subspecialty expertise such as in molecular pathology is desirable but not required. Participation in other subspecialty sign outs may be possible based on the candidates interest training and expertise. Individuals with expertise and /or interest in clinical translational or basic research are encouraged to apply. Academic rank and salary will depend on level of expertise and experience.
