The company is seeking a Structural Section Head to lead our dynamic transportation structures team in Hunt Valley Maryland. In this strategic leadership role you will be responsible for business development team leadership financial management and technical oversight for our structural engineering department. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned bridge or horizontal structures engineering leader to drive growth and innovation in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Align with office and practice leaders to implement strategic growth plans and expand market presence.
- Business Development: Lead client outreach foster relationships and pursue new opportunities at the local county and state levels.
- Team Management: Recruit develop and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and technical staff.
- Operational Oversight: Manage departmental budget allocate resources and ensure project delivery within scope and schedule.
- Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert in bridge and transportation structures; support project teams with guidance and QA/QC.
- Proposal Management: Lead proposal development efforts to win new work and support project pursuits.
- Performance Management: Conduct staff evaluations provide continuous feedback and support career growth and training plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 10 years of progressive experience in horizontal/bridge structural engineering
- Strong background in project management and client development
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
