Position Summary Patient Financial Services Director (Insurance and Patient Billing/Collections):

• As the Director of Patient Financial Services you will report to the CFO and oversee our billing/collections operations. You will supervise the Patient Financial Services and ProBill managers to ensure all billing and collections processes are carried out efficiently and accurately. You will define departmental goals that support our commitment to stellar patient service and align with the organizations mission.

• In this pivotal role you will collaborate with various hospital departments and medical staff to streamline operations interpret financial policies and recommend improvements that enhance billing accuracy and patient satisfaction. Your leadership will also involve interviewing and onboarding talent and fostering a culture of engagement and development among staff.

Director of Patient Financial Services (Insurance and Patient Billing/Collections) Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise Patient Financial Services daily operations focusing on billing insurance verification and accounts receivable.
• Set and align departmental goals with the hospitals overarching objectives to enhance patient billing processes.
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all patient billing activities and collections efforts.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve billing issues and improve processes.
• Assess and recommend changes to financial policies and procedures to support operational efficiency.
• Recruit mentor and develop a highperforming team dedicated to patient financial services.

Qualifications for Director of Patient Financial Services (Insurance and Patient Billing/Collections):

• Education: A bachelors degree in business administration or a related field is required. An associates degree with relevant hospital experience will be considered.
• Experience: Preferred two years of experience in a similar role focused on patient billing collections and insurance within a hospital environment.
• Knowledge: Must possess a strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills both written and oral and a collaborative team player with a passion for improving patient billing experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Meditech systems is highly desirable.

Familiarity with healthcare billing software and processes.
