Job Description

Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree is preferred.
*Minimum of seven to ten years of combined leadership fundraising management and donor cultivation and solicitation experience.
*Demonstrated success in major annual planned and principal giving is required.
*A seasoned philanthropy leader with demonstrated success in identification solicitation and stewardship of institutional corporate individual and family donors.
*Well versed in philanthropy best practices and capable of demonstrating the critical qualities of leadership necessary to motivate staff clinicians organizational leadership volunteers and Board members to attain new levels of productivity in fundraising.
*Solid experience in developing and implementing fundraising plans (e.g. pipeline development donor acquisition plans campaign plans).
*Experience overseeing sophisticated institutional corporate major principal and planned giving efforts.
*Experience in board and volunteer management.
*Superior judgment creativity communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a highly complex environment.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to balance and deliver on multiple activities.
*Ability to manage multiple projects and see projects through to a timely completion.
*Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
*Commitment to providing excellent customer service and experience managing a customer service oriented team.
*Excellent teambuilding skills.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary this position may be eligible for medical dental vision retirement and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night weekend or oncall work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.

Department Overview

Childrens Hospitals and Clinics Foundation department is the fundraising arm of Childrens. Gifts to the Foundation support treatment programs provide support for patients and families fund medical research and raise awareness of pediatric health issues throughout the community.


Position Summary

Reporting to the Foundation President and working closely with the executive team volunteers and Foundation Board the VP Philanthropy will have overall responsibility for planning growing staffing and executing the organizations institutional corporate major principal and planned giving programs. This role leads the organizations initiative to continue to build upon the current comprehensive strategy strategically plan and collaborate on philanthropy across the organization. Additionally this position fosters relationships with the Childrens Foundation Board to ensure Board engagement with philanthropic objectives.

The Vice President provides leadership and collaborates with the Foundation President the VP Prospect Development & Data Services VP Engagement and Associate Chief Development Officer and other directors and managers in the design and implementation of consistent practices across the Foundations annual giving midlevel giving institutional support corporate giving major giving principal giving planned giving campaign strategies and longrange strategic fundraising plans.

In addition to overall Foundation responsibility the Vice President Philanthropy is responsible for developing and executing institutional corporate major principal and planned giving and campaign strategies along with other longrange plans. The role directly manages the Foundations current institutional corporate major principal and planned giving teams in order to achieve campaign objectives and meet financial and operational goals. This leader is responsible for helping guide the team through planned growth while creating and sustaining a culture of blended giving excellence.

As the leader of the institutional corporate major principal and planned giving team and with an assigned portfolio of roughly 40 prospects the Vice President will set strategy and goals monitor work create solicitation strategies and solicit prospects and evaluate program results and team member productivity and capabilities to ensure that organizational objectives and operating requirements are met. These strategies include leveraging these fundraising efforts and integrating them into the Foundations events social media direct mail individual employee physician & grateful family giving corporate volunteer and grant seeking activities.

The Vice President is a leader within the Foundation and will be responsible for aligning activities with the needs and mission of the organization. The role will actively work to maximize resources and develop new opportunities for Childrens Foundation to support and complete the current campaigns prepare for the next comprehensive campaign and develop and achieve longrange fundraising strategies.
