Job Description
The Bowery Mission is a Christian faithbased organization committed since the 1870s to serving people experiencing homelessness hunger and poverty. The Bowery Mission meets essential needs and creates transformative community with men women children and families in New York so that we can together overcome homelessness and poverty and flourish.
The Advocate provides onetoone encouragement and accountability for women engaged in residential programming. The Advocate will carry a caseload and coordinate care with Clinical Services and an interdisciplinary team to help clients meet individual action plan goals including relational vocational housing and life skills goals. The Advocate will also facilitate classes groups and casemanagement needs.
As a key member of the Clinical Services team develop integrated faithbased clinical services that equip residential and nonresidential clients to make progress on their Individual Action Plan (IAP) goals. Provide support encouragement and accountability through individual and group sessions. Advocates will carry a caseload and coordinate care with Social Worker/Counselor and interdisciplinary team assisting clients in relational vocational housing and life skills goals. The Advocate will facilitate classes groups and referrals support clients with their weekly activity schedule and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
Reports to: Supervisor Clinical Services
This is a parttime position working approximately 20 hours per week in person at our Womens Center.
Monday Thursday 7:30am 12:30pm
Requirements:
- Embraces the organizations Statement of Faith
- Bachelors degree certification or graduatelevel work in a related field
- 2 years experience providing direct client services
- Highly relational with strong interpersonal skills
- Strong problemsolving and conflict resolution skills
- Flexible approachable and able to work with a team
- Proven confidentiality and personal integrity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Compensation: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour; compensationcommensurate with experience and education
