Job Description
Department: S.P.A.C.E Camp
Job Title: S.P.A.C.E. CampJunior Counselor
Reports To:Space Camp Director
Summary:SPACEs Junior Counselor position is for high school students entering 10th12th grades. Junior counselors are responsible for assisting lead classroom teachers engaging with campers and ensuring camper safety. Junior counselors work with lower campers and teachers. Hours of work are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm with a halfhour lunch break.
Qualifications:
- Desire to work with children
- Currently attending high school
- Responsible and reliable
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
- Assist the lead classroom teacher
- Engage with campers
- Ensure camper safety
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a school/classroom environment as well as outdoors. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk stand sit talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend stoop crouch and/or kneel.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
