Staff Software Development Engineer - Cameras

The Position

Do you have what it takes to design a camera stack that unlocks your phone with large scale security at a pocketsized price

Metalenz is looking for a Camera Software Development expert to lead the charge in defining the roadmap for our cuttingedge camera software stack. In this role you will own PolarIDs system architecture and lead the software development and validation running on mobile SoCs (e.g. Snapdragon).

What youll do

• Be the technical expert across the full camera software stack shaping the technical roadmap for Metalenzs products.

• Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure timely product delivery that meets or exceeds the customers needs.

• Lead the software team developing camera centric applications image processing algorithms and lowlevel drivers within the Android Camera Framework making best use of the SoCs camera software architecture (e.g. Qualcomm CHI/CamX) image accelerators and processor alternatives (CPU GPU DSP etc).

• Collaborate with optics hardware machine learning and product teams to optimize system cost latency power consumption and performance.

What youll need

• BS (MS preferred) in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or other relevant academic field.

• 5 years developing real time C/C software ideally running under Android or Linux.

• 2 years of technical project leadership and system architecture.

• Have developed simple and welldocumented APIs to ease intercompany SW integrations.

• Comfortable with modern CI/CD pipelines and remote logbased debugging.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 years working with image sensors and image processing pipelines.

• Solid understanding of optics camera hardware and image processing pipelines.

• Have shipped multiple embedded software products to tens of thousands of satisfied customers.
